Five Things to do This Spring Break

Spring break is one of the few things that college students look forward to during their spring semester. It is a week where you can forget your classes, professors, what comes next on the syllabus, etc. No one is worried about their grades or their GPA or all the other stressful aspects of college. Also, growing up MTV made spring break seem like a staple for a real college experience. Here’s the thing, a fancy spring break is expensive, Daytona Beach or the Caribbean islands do not come cheap but, fortunately that isn’t the only way to have an amazing spring break. Here are five things you can do to have an amazing spring break vacation:

1. Go away for spring break:

Everyone should have at least one spring break where they leave school and go to a different state or country and enjoy themselves. There are easier ways to doing this that doesn’t involve breaking their piggy bank and going completely broke just to spend a week in Cancun. Groupon is known for some of their amazing deals that can include; the flight and hotel expenses usually for under $1,000

2. Go home:

Nothing beats a home cooked meal, having your laundry washed for you, and being able to spend the entire week just snuggled up in your room being as lazy as one can get. Therefore why not go home? Everything is free and you can stock up on things to bring back to school. Most importantly, everything is free. Why not go home?

3. Volunteer:

While it is great to spend the time away from school partying and getting into nonsense you would only see on television, it is also great to spend the break giving. So why not volunteer at a local shelter, hospital, or whatever suits your interest as a way of giving back to the community.

4. Take a mini-vacation:

If you can’t afford a vacation but want to take a vacation go to the spa. It’s expensive but not as expensive as a trip to Miami. Treat yourself to non-expensive lavish things and pretend you’re on a beach somewhere enjoying the sun, sand, and waves.

5. Stay at school:

This may sound like a crazy idea but why not stay at school? You can catch up on school work that way when school starts again you’re ready, organized, and completely on track. On the plus side no one stays at school during the break anyways so it won’t even feel like you’re at school.

Spring Break does not have to be like MTV and Spring Breakers it could be as simple as sitting in your room binge watching Shameless until it’s time to return to reality.
