Campus COVID-19 Data Available Online

Good Afternoon!

SUNY Old Westbury today posted to its website a campus COVID-19 Status page that provides information on the campus’ testing efforts, including test results and numbers of positive COVID-19 cases affecting members of the campus.

This page was created to promote greater transparency about our shared progress in keeping the COVID-19 pandemic at bay on campus and in the surrounding community. The site will disclose the number of positive cases found through on-campus testing and self-reported by students, faculty, and staff who may have been tested elsewhere.  All students, faculty and staff are reminded that, in the event you receive a positive COVID-19 result from testing other than that offered by the College, that result must immediately be reported to either the Student Health Center (for students) or the Office of Human Resources (for faculty and staff).

In addition, SUNY last week launched a SUNY-wide COVID-19 case tracker dashboard. This centralized dashboard provides real time, up-to-date information on COVID-19 cases, testing, and quarantine and isolation space availability across SUNY’s 64 colleges and universities to more efficiently monitor, respond to, and contain the virus. Data is reported by campuses every 24 hours and added to the dashboard daily.

Remember, all of us have a role to play in ensuring we overcome the challenges of COVID-19.  Wearing masks, distancing ourselves socially, and washing our hands regularly and repeatedly must all be top-of-mind for each of us, every day. My hope is that, by doing those things diligently and with purpose, the numbers on our new COVID-19 status page will remain low, and we will be able to get back to our regular, close-knit campus community sooner and safer.

Thank you.
