Apple Unveils iPhone 13

On September 14th, Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed a bunch of Apple products during the “California Streaming” event. The product that is grabbing everyone’s attention  is the new iPhone 13 (and also the iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max).

Greg Joswiak, the senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing for Apple, made a comment in a press release about the new phone’s simplicity and the features it includes. “Our customers rely on [the] iPhone every day, which is why we’ve made [the] iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini more powerful, more capable, and more fun to use,” said Josewiak.

The iPhone 13 and the Mini come with a fascinating and complex camera system so that one could take eye-catching, beautiful pictures. They are also quite sleek and sturdy with water resistance, and have a greatly improved battery life so that anyone could use their phone when the time calls for it.

According to NBC News, the phone has a new chip called the “A15 Bionic.” This chip powers the iPhone 13’s features. For example, it can tell through its cameras when it is pointed at text.

In addition, the iPhone 13 comes with so much storage by default at 128 gigabytes. This is more than the iPhone 12 and about as much as the iPhone 12 Pro.

When describing the improvements thanks to the new chip, Apple stated in their press release, “Major battery life improvements come to both iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, made possible by A15 Bionic, more efficient components, a larger battery, and power optimizations from a deep integration of hardware and software.”

Apple is elaborating that the chip has brought a number of changes and improvements for an optimized user experience. The tech company then described the fascinating dual-camera system that the new iPhones have. “iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini represent a massive leap in camera design with advancements in hardware and computational photography that deliver stunning photos and videos,” according to Apple’s press release.

The iPhone 13 and the mini’s wide camera is said to have the biggest sensor ever in an iPhone dual-camera system and can gather 47 percent more light for desirable results.

Interestingly, the iPhone 13 and mini brought a feature previously used in the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and only that particular smartphone. Apple stated that “sensor-shift OIS” technology would come to the wide camera in the iPhone 13. The technology is even more apparent in the 13 Mini.

iOS 15 is featured with the new iPhone 13. Apple says, “iOS 15 enhances the iPhone experience with new ways to stay connected, and powerful features that help users focus, explore, and do more with on-device intelligence.” They confirmed that it will be released next Monday as a free software update.

For those looking to upgrade, in the U.S., before trade-in, the iPhone 13 will be worth $799. The iPhone 13 mini will cost $699. Both the iPhone 13 and the mini will come in the colors of pink, blue, midnight, starlight, and red.
