It is finally that time again for new money and new adventures. For all those who have been waiting for the return, a new season of Billions has finally arrived. Season six carries many new, interesting developments in the continuation of an ongoing battle between two “big time players in the New York market.”
Main characters Axelrod, played by actor Damian Lewis, and District Attorney Chuck Rhodes, played by Paul Giamatti, return to the center of their ongoing war to destroy one another’s reputation and success. In the opening episode, Axelrod is now in Switzerland, unable to face extradition for his role in a scheme that was being investigated by NY’S D.A. Chuck Rhodes. When Rhodes finds out he is no longer within reach for an imminent arrest, D.A. Rhodes makes it his business to find any possible clues or information leading to the location and arrest of Axelrod.
As the episode proceeds, Chuck Rhodes finds himself at the company Axelrod once owned and operated, Axe Capital, and face to face with the new owner, Michael Prince, who himself is more focused on his goal of taking the company to new heights and capital. Chuck lets Michael know that he can be his best friend or his worst enemy, depending how cooperative he was in getting Axelrod taken down once and for all. However, this kind of manipulation would also play a role in the addition of two other characters, Taylor and Wendy Rhodes.
Taylor, played by Asia Kate Dillion, is a top investor and reader for Axe Capital, making her a top asset for Michael. Michael tells her it is going to run how he tells them or she can go with the rest who chose to go against it. She becomes confused and seeks assistance from the company’s therapist, Wendy Rhodes. Wendy, played by Maggie Siff, realizes her ex husband, the D.A. was on a mission to get rid of Axelrod, but before she could act and form a plan, he was already telling her the plan. She, in turn, became confused as if she did not know whether to be loyal to an ex husband or protect a man that she had an affair with and would most certainly go to jail if he were to be caught.
