“Will you marry me? ” a phrase many women can’t wait to hear one day. Well, Jennifer Lopez is feeling the vibes. She recently starred in a movie with Owen Wilson, best known for being in the hit movies such as Marley and Me, Cars, and Wedding Crashers.

Their newest movie titled Marry Me premiered on February 11, 2022. The premise of the movie is that Kat Valdez, a famous pop star played by J.Lo, is about to marry the love of her life. They planned to have a huge wedding where millions would watch. But, sadly, minutes before they tie the knot, Kat finds out her future husband was cheating on her with her assistant. She decides to still get married though she looks out into the crowd of many, where she sees Charlie Gibert, an elementary school teacher and single dad who randomly happens to be holding a sign that says “Marry Me?”. Kat sees his sign and says “Why not?”. Charlie, who was never a fan of Kat Valdez, is extremely confused but goes through with marrying her to be nice.

The entire movie follows the pair who come from two extremely different worlds but are forced to become one. As someone who is a huge J.Lo fan, I feel a duty to watch anything she’s in. Might I add I’m a hopeless romantic and I love a good Rom-Com.

When the movie first started I remember thinking about the casting. J.Lo, a very glamorous celebrity, is known for having an amazing body for her age and, of course, her music. Owen Wilson, is more of a relaxed guy and is known for his many comedy roles. I thought the movie was cast perfectly. Both of them very much like their characters, and it was fun to watch their chemistry because of how different they are. For me, the casting is what made the movie and storyline.

The plot felt like something that could really happen because of their differences. J.Lo’s character was that of a pretty typical rich girl who has it all but doesn’t know how to do anything for herself because of all the help she has. Owen Wilson’s character challenged her in the movie to go a day without any help from her staff. Needless to say, she failed,, but it was fun to watch someone like her try.

Although both J.Lo and Wilson’s characters don’t start out in love, they eventually fall in love on their own. Very Cliche. The movie overall was very cute but predictable from start to finish. With a personal rating of 7 out of 10, I recommend it if you’re a J.Lo fan or enjoy a good Rom-Com.
