Recently, I attended a wedding at the Flowerfield venue, located in St. James, NY.

Despite rain dripping down the window of the shuttle, the features of the Flowerfield grounds caught the guests’ attention. At the entrance, a large fountain that graciously sprayed water.

A long canopy decorated in lights led us into a cozy waiting area. Scenic and floral photos hung on the wall.A  sign said: “Welcome to our forever.”

Flowerfield certainly embodies its floral name. Entering the Atrium for the ceremony, I immediately was surrounded by greenery which was illuminated with small lights, and lanterns hung from the ceiling. Inside, the vast space and natural light shining through the windows created the feeling of an outdoor setting.

A bridge for the bride to walk across spanned over a big koi pond filled with large orange and white fish. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed their food on tables and couches that surrounded the pond.

When the ceremony and cocktail hour concluded, the reception kicked off and all of the guests made their way to the Grand Ballroom. Blue lights filled the room and rows of drapery hung from the ceiling. Tables surrounded both sides of the dance floor, which guests would later spend much time on.

From my experience, the Flowerfield venue provided beautiful scenery for its guests. The expansive bridge and koi pond created a focal point in the room that brought a touch of the outdoors inside the main room. For more information about the venue, you can visit the Flowerfield website at https://www.flowerfield.com.
