What is The ICC Cricket Men’s T20 World Cup?

The Cricket World Cup is the international championship of cricket. This competition occurs every four years and is watched almost everywhere around the world. 

How did the ICC Cricket Men’s T20 World Cup start?

The Cricket World Cup started in England in 1975. It was a one day match with 60 overs per side. Then, in 1987, the tournament was held in India and Pakistan.

The Cricket World Cup will happen from October 16 to November 13, 2022.

Who is going to host this year’s T20 World Cup? 

Australia will host the tournament in less than 100 days.

What are the tournament’s teams?

There are 32 teams that play in three different leagues. The first league is the Super League, in which 13 teams play. The second league is League 2, in which seven teams play. The third league is the Challenge League, in which 12 teams play. Based on the results of the leagues, some teams go straight forward to the World Cup, while other teams are eliminated and can’t play in the World Cup. Some teams advance to supplementary qualifying tournaments. A few of those teams are selected to play in the World Cup based on the results of the supplementary tournaments.

These 8 teams will go straight to super 12s. Namibia, Scotland, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE, Ireland, Netherlands & Zimbabwe have secured their birth because they qualify for super 12s.”

What is the cost of attending the ICC Cricket Men’s T20 World Cup?

According to SportsKeeda, the ticket prices for the ICC T20 World Cup range from $20.40 to $4,083.74. The general saver seat in the Stadium costs about $20.40 to $40.84, while a Premium Seat in the Stadium costs $61.26 to $217.80. The most expensive seat in the stadium is priced from $789.52 to $4,083.74. 

What Stadiums will be available for the Tournament?

The T20 World Cup will be hosted in seven different stadiums. The stadiums are located across Australia. The stadiums are the Adelaide Oval, the Gabba, Kardinia Park, Bellerive Oval, Melbourne Cricket Ground, Perth Stadium, and Sydney Cricket Ground. Those stadiums have beautiful designs, architecture, and special features.

How much will the winners earn?

According to a report from ICC-Cricket website, the winners of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Melbourne on November 13 will receive prize money of $1.6 million, with the runner-ups guaranteed half the amount. At the end of the nearly month-long 16-team tournament, the losing semi-finalists will each get $400,000 from the $5.6 million total prize pool. The eight teams who exit at the Super 12 stage will receive $70,000 each. Like last year at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, a win in each of the 30 games in the Super 12 phase will be worth $40,000.

The tournament will be televised on Willow TV and ESPN+ and will be live streamed through Hot Star in the USA.
