Dirty Taco is a fusion of a Los Angeles taco truck and a Miami liquor stand. The walls have colorful sugar skulls which are linked to Mexican culture and the popular holiday “El Día de los Muertos.”

The vibe is young and urban, so it is a casual eatery. However, if you are a bit older do not feel discouraged about coming here. I saw babies and grandparents at this location as well as young people just trying to get drunk in good company.

My friend and I started dinner with an appetizer. We got “loaded totchos” which are tater tots with queso, guacamole, Pico de Gallo, and fresh jalapenos on top. It had a kick to it, but it was delicious and pretty filling.

As we started to look at the drink’s menu, we noticed that paying cash was encouraged because everything was thirty to fifty cents cheaper as opposed to if you were paying with a card. At that point we decided to pay cash and save ourselves some money. I ordered two tacos, one which had a very flavorful grilled skirt steak with onions and cilantro. I also tasted the hint of lime.

My other taco was a birria taco which has become the popular and trendy taco. Birria is stewed beef, melted cheese and a side of the consommé in which you dip the taco in. Each taco was $6 cash, and if you pay with a card it was $6.24. Again, the tacos did not disappoint; they were very flavorful and filling. We both enjoy tequila, so we got two paloma’s each, which are cocktails made with tequila. They were very refreshing yet strong for $14 each.

The food and drinks were great and with the tip not included, dinner was under $100! The average meal costs between $6 and $15, and I see why this place is always busy. The food is good and two people can choose to have tasty food and drinks for less than $100 or for $50 if you choose to split the bill.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our waiter made excellent food and drink recommendations.
