“Yaya Tea Hicksville” is a bubble tea store located at 131 North Broadway in Hicksville, NY. It is a few blocks away from the Chipotle, the train station, and Broadway Commons Mall. It is open every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Yaya Tea has a wide menu of teas and food, with their specialty being the wide variety of onigiri (triangle rice balls). What sets them apart is their offering of two sizes of rice balls, small and large. A few of their fillings are crab, salmon, tuna, fried chicken, and spare ribs. The menu is inclusive, sporting non-dairy options and vegan options. On average a small rice ball will run you about $4.00 and a large will cost $5.50 to $6.00.

I tried their signature rice ball, the Yaya Chicken, and their popular tea, First Love. My total was $10.10. The Yaya Chicken rice ball is a fried chicken rice ball that has been coated in a fruit based Tonkatsu sauce paired with seaweed salad inside. The first thing I noticed was that the filling was not skimped on. It was packed with juicy chicken and well seasoned seaweed salad. I could also tell it was freshly made due to it being still warm. The best part about this rice ball was that it was halal, so anyone can enjoy it.

The First Love tea is a peach and mango white tea. I got it as is with seventy-five percent sugar and less ice. The tea was sweet, but not overly sweet with the fruity flavor being the star of the show. It was delicious! I would happily recommend this place to anyone looking to get into bubble tea, onigiri, or both.
