For my brother’s 18th birthday, my family and I went to the Peter Luger Steakhouse for the first time and it definitely hit the spot. The Peter Luger Steakhouse is one of the most well-known and extremely highly-rated steakhouses in the country. Some people swear that it is the best steak they have ever eaten, and I truly can’t disagree with them there.

For our appetizer, we got Caesar salad along with Luger’s Sizzling Bacon. This comes with three long, extra thick slices of juicy, mouth-watering bacon that is truly the best bacon I’ve ever had. It covers up an entire plate and three slices was enough to share for the four of us since these bacon strips were so big. I highly recommend dipping the bacon into the famous Luger’s Sauce, which is placed on every single table at the restaurant.

Peter Luger’s Prime Beef Steak is available to serve one, two, three, and even four people. Since the four of us went together, we obviously chose the steak for four. The steak comes on a sizzling plate. It is already cut into strips so you can take as many strips of steak as you desire, put them on your plate, and start digging in. A meal at Peter Luger isn’t complete without their signature sides. Their creamed spinach is a must as it melts in your mouth with every bite. Not to mention, their French-Fried Potatoes are out of this world.

The staff at Peter Luger were not only extremely nice and friendly with us, but they were also very efficient, professional, and will serve you your food exactly how you asked for it. Peter Luger is open seven days of the week for lunch and dinner. It’s extremely important to make a reservation far in advance since they are required to eat at the restaurant.

Our total for the dinner came out to $560 which is the most amount of money we have spent eating out. Peter Luger was traditionally known for only accepting cash, and if you owned a Peter Luger credit card, they would accept that as well. As of recently, they have been taking debit cards and checks with ID.
