Tidal Tea is a 2 storefront bubble tea chain. One location is in Harlem by the City College of New York campus, and the other is in Great Neck, Long Island. Tidal Tea prides themselves on making everything fresh every day.

At the Harlem location, the store is listed on the discount food app, “Too Good To Go.” The menu is relatively average-sized for a bubble tea shop with approximately twenty to thirty different drinks. There is a special menu that changes seasonally. At both locations, they offer homemade rice balls in five flavors and different assortments of food, such as chili noodles (with the addition of a protein ball of crab or beef for an additional fee) or pork and ginger dumplings. Each tea on the menu at the Harlem location is $5.50. The slushes are $6.00 and the lemonades are $5.00.

I ordered a peach oolong tea with seventy percent sweetness and lychee jelly to accompany the chili noodles with crab balls. My total was just shy of $15. The drink was just sweet enough and the jelly had a good chew that provided a nice compliment to the tea. The tea was perfectly steeped to where I could taste the peach and the oolong tea. The noodles were substantial and filling. The chili flavor was there and not too overpowering. The drink and food pairing leant itself nicely to each other with the sweetness being just enough to both tame the heat and enhance the flavor of the chili.

I highly recommend Tidal Tea for beginning and long-time boba lovers. The freshness of the brews and the care put into curating everything comes through with anything you order.
