Poem

Beautiful Soul

She called her a beautiful soul, beautiful soul.

Did she feel it? Did she know it?

What did she see? I’ll tell you.

She saw a soul that cried, a soul that was bruised

Till every scar represented every pain.

Till every wound of hurt described failure.

She saw a beautiful soul trapped in her insecurities.

Trapped, bound and chained.

A beautiful soul that didn’t have wings to fly but tried,

That society had cast out, kicked out and left out.

A soul that raged in anger and fury.

The fires of her grief burned deep.

A raging war hidden inside this beautiful soul.

Broken, broken bent low.

This beautiful soul with tired bones, can’t stand.

Feeble hands and weak knees,

This beautiful soul didn’t grow, didn’t believe,

didn’t see herself, didn’t know herself.

This beautiful, beautiful SOULLLL!!!!,

carried weights of frustrations, heavy stress.

Mountains that she couldn’t climb.

Mountains that laughed and mocked her,

for trying to reach her full and highest potential.

Her SOUL, her SOULLL!!! Can’t take it NO MORE!!!.

The depth of her sorrows wept openly.

IT’S TIME to fly and rise like an eagle.

This beautiful soul, rose from the gutter.

Stepped, crushing every pain that held her back.

This beautiful soul trampled all fears

Trampled on the dirt that stripped of her skin,

cleansed out her soul and ignited her spirit.

Her walk, her steps of a soul that was reborn.

A soul that was rejuvenated, SHE SAW!!! SHE SAW!!!

a soul with substance coming forth more powerful

A SOUL that was once discarded as trash is

now recycled and packaged, brand new for shipment.

She saw a soul that didn’t give up,

A soul that ran fast enough, jumping over hurdles

and winning every race. her soul resurrected from slumber to be free.

Her soul is fierce, bold and strong, her eyes opened to see.

Who is this Soul? It’s me, it’s me, it’s me…
